Quality and effective distance learning sets specific technological standards. On the one hand it is ungrounded to suggest a huge output of total equipment upgrade, but on the other hand it is proven that with targeted upgrades we can achieve an ideal digital environment for conducting courses. With the ultimate goal of functional and better distance learning for our students, at Gotoclass we used the most advanced technologies available, both in terms of equipment and software.

Specifically, Gotoclass has :

• Interactive pen displays with high sensitivity and high resolution that depict with great detail and clarity the teacher’s notes during the lesson.
• Interactive boards with honours in international exhibitions that give teacher the additional possibilities for conducting the lesson and deliver a better experience at the whole education process.
• Flexible setup and organization of equipment so that the teacher can easily alternate the flow of the lesson between simple video chat, sharing the interactive board and material such as videos, presentations and notes.

Gotoclass provides to both students and teachers a wide variety of software tools such as Microsoft Whiteboard, Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Reader and more complex and optimized tools that is recommended for specific courses such as Physics, Biology. To help bridge learning gaps and accelerate progress our IT team has developed custom techonologies that can be used to create rich digital content which can even fullfill the most demanding students.

Over the last decade, our world has come a long way in the evolving  digital revolution we are experiencing. However, many people has a false belief that the ideal digital environment for teleworking or online seminars and courses demands “expensive” equipment. This is inaccuracy. Through our experience in the online tutoring we understand that for the proper attendance and especially the participation of the student in the online course are considered necessary:

1. Internet connection with a minimum speed of 50Mbps (More appropriate 100Mbps). Intense use of the Internet (streaming) by other family members should be avoided during the course. Also, a significant improvement in speeds occurs when the connection is direct with an ethernet cable (instead of using Wi-Fi). It is also important, where possible, to ensure a quiet place to attend the lesson without interference.
2. Laptop, Desktop or Tablet. Caution! Watching the lesson from your mobile phone should be explicitly avoided. The mobile does not contribute to the quality of the course and it is good to use it only for the fast sending of exercises with a photo where it is requested. Indicatively, we list some suggested features for the computer / tablet that the student uses :

•  Windows 10 / Mac OS X 10.5
•  Minimum i3 processor
• At least 4 GB of  RAM
• Οptional SSD (Solid State Drive)
• 10,1’ Screen or larger

Course equipment includes a camera, headphones and a microphone. A quality lesson presupposes the continuous and two-way communication of the teacher with the student. In addition, this two-way communication must be fully audiovisual to ensure the optimal assimilation of the taught material, as the teacher immediately identifies the points of the material that are difficult for each student. Therefore, the use of this equipment and especially the camera is mandatory for all students of our tutoring.
